Message | Minimum incomes do not work and should not be encouraged. They do not work as when a minimum wage is set all employers of low skill level labour will automatically give that wage. Whereas when the market is free the levels will be set by the demands of the market, this can be used to the advantage of the workers in negotiating a higher than minimum wage. They should not be encouraged as they remove the incentive to corporations to ensure they are getting the best labour for their buck. |
