Bill: Nukes
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2209
Description[?]:
Currently, we only use nukes in response to a chemical, bio, or other nuclear attack. This is not very smart. Here is a metaphor depicting this: We should only stab someone if they cut off our arm first. Does not make much sense, does it? |

Message | Let us not wait until our arm is cut off to retaliate. |
Date | 17:57:58, March 31, 2006 CET | From | Jelbék Zemojad Lofrkad Prta | To | Debating the Nukes |
Message | Nuclear weaponry is so vastly destructive and dangerous that it is not a viable weapon to use in a traditional war, whether or not the Free Republic is the aggressor. Nuclear weaponry is perhaps a necessary evil, but only as a deterrent. It should remains so. The DLP opposes this bill. |

Message | The Citizens Party agrees with the DLP on this issue. We should never use nuclear weapons for ANY reason we feel like. |

Message | I plan to keep Nukes as a DETERANT, but if we can only use them after they do, that is less intimadating. |

Message | I'd like to keep our arms. |
Date | 21:36:24, March 31, 2006 CET | From | Jelbék Zemojad Lofrkad Prta | To | Debating the Nukes |
Message | No, we may not use them in an agressive fashion. How are they to be a deterrent if this bill is passed? For example, if the Free Republic were to go to war with a nuclear power, and launch nuclear weapons at them, this is NOT using nuclear weapons as a deterrent. |
Date | 07:41:40, April 01, 2006 CET | From | Centre Démocratique | To | Debating the Nukes |
Message | It is the current policy which aims for deterrance. This is the most reasonable approach. We cannot support this bill. |
