Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4607
Description[?]:
The current legislation allows abortion only in case of medical emergency. So, in fact abortion is illegal in the Kalopian Republic. However, we believe that abortion is a moral right of women to decide what to do with their bodies. A progressive and democratic country like Kalopian Republic should respect that right. Let us not forget that banning abortions puts women at risk by forcing them to use illegal abortionists. Furthermore, we should consider the fact that many women that have undergone rape and have gotten pregnant after that awful incident, do not feel okay to give birth to their raper's child. Of course we should also consider the scientific opinion on this matter. Scientists support that abortion is safer for the women during the first 3 months of pregnancy and the fetus cannot feel any pain at that time. Ī¤herefore, we support that abortion be legalized, but only during the first trimester. |
