Bill: CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT (Restructuring of the Legislative Body)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Baltusian Conservative Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4608

Description[?]:

The Conservative Party of Baltusia proposes to restructure our legislative body and rename it, from Parliament to the United States Congress.

The upper house of the Congress is the Senate, voted democratically. The Vice President of the United States shall be the Senate President. The Vice President is voted in tandem with the POTUS, meaning that the President and Vice President shall come from the same party. There shall be a Senate Majority Leader and Senate Minority Leader.

The lower house is the House of Representatives, voted democratically as well. The House Speaker must come from the party with the most seats, however, in case when two parties form a coalition and becomes a majority in the House, these two parties shall have the power to determine who will be the House Speaker. Also, in case of a tie between two parties that hold the same number of seats (highest number of seats), there shall be a House Election for the House Speaker which invloves the minorities but the House Speaker must come from the two tied parties only.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
