Details

Submitted by[?]: Wohlwollende Monarchie-Partei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4617

Description[?]:

This bill allows the Bundespräsident to award various awards and titles to military heros, model citizens, and other Dundorfians deemed worthy of special recognition by the state. The title of "Ritter" (knight) may be bestowed to any Dundorfian, and the title of Würdigermann (Worthy Man) or Würdigerfrau (Worthy Woman) to any non-citizen deserving of recognition. All knights shall be referred to as the Ehrenwerter (Honorable) Herr/Frau (lastname). The title is purely symbolic and confers no special rights other than special respect from their peers.

MessageIt goes without saying, we vote no. Noble titles, however powerless, still create a sense of superiority, superiority creates class conflict and elitism. These are two things we do not support.

MessageWe have always wanted this tradition to be a part of dundorfian customs, we vote yes.

MessageWe counter the argument that noble titles create elitism. Rather, It will elevate deserving men and women, regardless of class, to be appreciated by their peers for their diligence and moral fortitude. The awards will not create a caste system of Ritter and other award winners. To jump to conclusions about a simple award is absurd.
