Description[?]:

Members of the newly-restored Grand Council,

This nation greatly rejoiced when it was clear that Juhn, patriarch of the ancient House of Banmek-Sntazed, had returned to his native land to take up the crown of his ancestors as King Juhn XII. Indeed it was the spur many of those exiled needed to return to their homeland and serve their country. We therefore owe His Majesty a great deal of gratitude.

Now we have restored law, order and stability it is clear that the monarchy is crucial to maintaining the status quo. This means we are very aware that the continuity of the monarchy is of paramount importance to us.

Therefore, I open a debate in this Chamber as to how Royal Succession is to be handled going forward and what method should be used.

Critically, I also ask Prince Kezkai, the honourable leader of the Banmek-Sntazed party, to give this House some indication as to who he believes will be chosen as the Heir to His Majesty and named Archduke of Banstill.

Do not get me wrong, it is hoped that His Majesty will rein for many more years given his vigor and good health, but now aged over 80 it is prudent to put such plans in place. I therefore, ask the Prince, with all haste to furnish us with as much detail as he can.

Members of the Grand Council, this is so critical I dare even to go one step further and suggest a course of action: it is my belief that, without hesitation, a very suitable heir exists, and that no soul searching or pouring over the family tree is needed.

As King Juhn's cousin once removed - and grandson of the late Queen Agzé - the leader of our party and the honourable patriarch of the House Banmek-Sntazed-Zhtál, Prince Aldrkai, the Duke of Vrkzel, has the strongest claim to be named heir to the throne.

Does anyone here dispute this or have a clearer way forward which will ensure stability?

Member of the Grand Council

MessageHonoured colleagues,

After consultation with His Majesty, who has found it polite to not attend this session but wishes to make it clear he will show himself if such is required of him, he wishes for his eldest son to take the place as the royal heir, to be installed as the new Archduke of Banstill and take up official duties in service of the Kingdom.

Allow me to shortly introduce His Majesty's eldest son Prince Wrntukai. He is the first of four children, having one younger brother and two sisters. The Prince is currently 48 years old and served as a cadet and officer in the Armed Forces, specifically the Land Forces, before his father set off to New Verham. At this point the newly wed Prince Wrntukai joined his father and was forced to remain in New Verham after the involuntary exile of the entire family. The Prince himself also has two children, a girl and a boy. The girl was named in honour of our great Queen Mrjmai and the boy in honour of the first King of Vanuku, Pawl.

His Majesty has expressed he wishes for his son to inherit and his granddaughter after. That is basically all I have to say on the matter, we know the strength of His Majesty's claim and we have the knowledge that with the old succession laws he would've been King even without this horrid catastrophy that was inflicted upon our Kingdom, yet he also clearly states he will respect and obey the new laws. He supports them even.

The BSP is inclined to support the King in his wishes but we will also pay attention to the suggestion of the honourable Baronet.

God bless the King.

Prince Kezkai Banmek-Sntazed
Leader of the BSP

MessageMembers of the Grand Council,

Let me thank Prince Kezkai for making the situation clear. It is good to hear that in choosing his heir, the King supports the succession law, which allow for a daughter to inherit the crown if she is first born through absolute primogeniture.

Therefore, I propose a motion to this House:

Article 1) That the Grand Council recognises and endorses the decision to bestow Prince Wrntukai with the title of Archduke of Banstill and make him the Heir to the Throne;

Article 2) The Grand Council joins His Majesty The King in respecting and supporting the Absolute Primogeniture succession law and encourages future monarchs to use this method when choosing a heir;

Prince Aldrkai Banmek-Sntazed-Zhtál
Prefect of the Council
