Bill: Farming Deregulation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Renew

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4621

Description[?]:

Farmers in my constituency and others across this country cry out and demand changes in these laws. Successful farms are punished for expansion and family farms are crush by unreasonable livestock requirements. The livestock requirement has driven small family farms out of business or onto government payrolls in order to stay afloat. Only larger wealthy corporate farms are able to both comply and be profitable. Furthermore Thousands of Acres of Land remain unused because farmers worry that a purchase of that unused land may result in the government taking it away. The farm systems needs to change from a corporate first policy to a family first policy.

MessageFirstly, if we make farm size unregulated, this will only make it better for larger wealthy corporate farms. Secondly, if livestock farmer can't ensure that animals are treated well, they shouldn't be a livestock farmer.
