| In our opinion, the Bundespräsident should indeed be chosen by the public, but why not give the Bundestag the authority of choosing the candidate? The great advantage would be that the Bundestag can decide at any time, if the President dies or cannot govern any longer, to appoint a new President without having to arrange early elections. |
