Message | This bill was introduced to the Committee by a group of Socialist Workers' Representatives and a coalition of Democratic socialist Representatives. After evaluating the bill for a long time, conducting investigations on the impact, these new regulations would have on the economy, a report provided by the Department of Finance and a special joint analysis with the office of the Secretary of Finance, Grace Ford, the Committee has determined that these new regulations will better address the need to protect the rights of our workers from exploitation and abuse historically perpetrated by big companies and enterprises. Naturally, of course, our current regulations do protect the rights of workers, but we believe that it is imperative to further extend those protections and ensure the well-being of our working class. The Finance Committee puts this bill to a vote on the floor and recommends voting to pass. Priscilla Wise Chair of the Education and Labor Committee |
