Message | Mr Speaker, in the main I was delighted with the proposals put forward in this bill by the CSP and believe that this bill would mark a significant step forward for our nation's individual and religious liberties. That was until I read Article 5. Will the Secretary of State please explain how the CSP propose to determine what a 'cult' is and what is merely a small religious group? We are not opposed in principle to the suppression of cults that undermine the fabric of our society and propagate serious divisions amongst the Rutanian people but are worried this article does not sufficiently protect religions that are small in number but enrich our society culturally and charitably. Message | Mr Speaker, I would like to thank my Honourable Friend the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department for his partial Endorsement, I am glad to clarify that in this position we define a cult as: an Extreme religious group regardless of size carrying out imoral and unlawful practices. we hope this clarifies the position. Message | Mr Speaker, I am grateful to the Secretary of State for her clarification. The definition she has provided to the parliamentary record is helpful. Upon consulting the Attorney General, I am confident this record is sufficiently legally secure for the Dynamocratic Party to support the motion. We will, therefore, be voting in favour when this bill is put to the vote. Signed, Lord Yaxley Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department Vice-Commissioner of the Dynamocratic Youth |
