| Leonardo De Giuliani, former Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dear colleagues and Honorable Speaker of the Assembly, we are here to officially announce the resignation of me and my fellow minister, Emma Andreotti, from the current government to which we belong. It was not an easy decision, we thought a lot about the advantages and disadvantages of these resignations. First of all, I would like to thank all the other fellow ministers for the work they have done and for the peaceful cooperation that has always been between us. I come to the point, why did we make this decision? Out of pure sense of responsibility towards this country and the people we represent, the ideological differences (completely legitimate) between BdS, Rp and us were too many and stopped the government's work. The Istalians deserve a fully functioning government that is strong in its choices for the future of this country. We admit that this government was formed in a difficult situation for political balances as there was no well-defined majority between the 2 blocs, the left and the right. We believe it is essential that the people can come back to express their opinion on the government of their country and that is why we present a motion to convene, as soon as possible, new elections for the renewal of this assembly where all Istalian citizens are represented. We thank once again all the parliamentarians and ministers with whom we have collaborated these months and also all the opposition for the ideas and proposals put in place for our country.
