Description[?]:

Aloria is a nation of many cultures and religions. However it could be described as "Wales meets Germany". Effectively, the country is part-Welsh (Draddeg, or Draddwyr) and part-Dundorfian (Dundorfische, or Artanian) with the important historical minority groups of the Yaeti and Alirlan peoples. In reality, the Dundorfian/Artanian (Germans) have taken the reigns of power in Aloria from the Draddeg (Welsh) but rather than seeking to oppress them the two ethnic groups have reconciled and live in harmony. Most Alorians are at least bilingual, capable of speaking both Welsh (Draddeg) and German (Dundorfische). Although the Draddeg population is the largest ethnic group they are not the native people of the land.

ETHNICITY:
• Draddeg / Draddwyr / Tirgwyryfaidd (44%)
• Dundorfische / Dundorfian / Artanian (43%)
• Yaeti (4%)
• Alirlans (2%)
• Selucians (1%)
• Yeudi (1%)
• Other (5%)

Alorian Draddeg (Welsh) people are plurality Hosian in religious orientation. Their majority is most pronounced in the provinces of Caermoel and Cymertraeth. Many Alorian Draddeg refer to themselves as “Tirgwyryfaidd”, deriving from the Draddeg name for Aloria, to differentiate themselves from the Draddeg outside Aloria. Draddeg people arrived to Aloria in two waves in the 11th century from the Great North Dovani Plain and Dranland in what is known as the “Mudo Darpariaethol” (Providential Migration).

Alorian Dundorfian (German) people are also plurality Hosian in religious orientation. Dundorfians arrived in Aloria after the creation of the culturally Selucian Holy Alorian Empire in 611 CE. Dundorfian population is most pronounced in the provinces of Gavonshire and Ultran and South Sildar.

The Yaeti people are the native peoples of Aloria. At one time the dominant peoples in almost all of modern Aloria, they now live primarily in the mountains of Caermoel. Their closest kin are the Dundorfian-speaking people, but isolation in the mountains has allowed the Yaeti to preserve many of their cultural traditions. The Yaeti have been an historically impoverished and marginalized group. The hugely dominant religion in their culture is Bogism, which has its origins in native Yaeti religion.

The Alirlan people (known as Latin-Alorians before the banning of real-life variables in-game) are descended from Selucian conqueror pilgrims who arrived in Aloria between 500 and 600 CE by way of Pontesi and north up the western coast of Artania. They have a distinctly Selucian / Latin inspired culture similar to real-life Southern European countries such as Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Most Alirlan people live in northern Sildar, their historical homeland. Religiously speaking, the Alirlans tend to adhere to Hosian faiths and the Alorian Hosian Church dominates their culture. While at one time a large proportion of the Alorian population, their numbers dwindled in 3400s during an outbreak of civil war when many fled to Hutori.

LANGUAGE:
• Draddeg / Draddwyr / *Welsh* (95%)
• Dundorfische / Artanian / *German* (88%)
• Luthorian / *English* (32%)
• Alirlan / *Interlingua* (3%)
• Yaeti / Kurmali / *Conlang created by JessAveryJA* (2%)
• Selucian / *Latin* (2%)
• Yeudi / Jewish (1%)

It is important to note that Aloria has two “conlangs” or constructed languages. One is Yaeti, constructed by the player JessAveryJA who at the time of this writing has a party in Aloria. The other is Interlingua which is a Romance-based language similar in some respects to Esperanto.

RELIGION:
• Alorian Hosian Church / Bishopal (55%)
• Confessional Ameliorate Church of Dundorf / Luthoran (17%)
• Bogism (11%)
• Aurorian Patriarchal Church / Patriarchal (10%)
• Yeudi (1%)
• Other Religion (4%)
• No Religion (2%)

NAMING

Party names should be in Welsh or German, although minority language (Latin, Hindi, Interlingua, and Yaeti) names and English are acceptable (but English is least preferred). Alirlan person names should be derived from Romance languages such as Spanish, Catalan, Italian, Portuguese, etc.
