| Mr Speaker, with this bill the Government wants proceed with a new modernization program for our Armed Forces so to update them to the latest breakthrough of technology and industry. The program will provide: - A new Multirole Jet-fighter for the Air Force (it will be realized a configuration for the Navy too). - A new class of SSBN (Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine) to replace the old "Vittorioso Class". Only 3 units will replace the old 6 units (3 of them already in reserve for long time). - Alongside the development of the new SSBN a new kind of ballistic missile will be developed (a submarine-launched version and a ground-launched version) [OOC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSM-56_Bulava and a ground counterpart). - The "Soldato del Futuro" program (Soldier of the Future) will develop new technologies for the warfare of tomorrow developing and testing these new technologies which will assist our soldiers (personal armors, active mimetic systems, enhanced vision devices, highly interconnected combat networks, advanced monitoring systems, combat assisting drones, etc...). |
