Bill: INPUT FROM ALL PARTIES PLEASE: "Republic of Pontesi"? You decide. Current Idea: "Pontesian Dynastic Pentarchal Commonwealth"

Details

Submitted by[?]: Pnték Znkak Prta 'Bastardry'

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2226

Description[?]:

Personally, I feel "Republic of Pontesi" is a bit flat. While we will always be Pontesi, do you think our full title could be something more interesting? Even if you think it's an idea no-one else will support, so long as makes some sort of sense, suggest it. It is possible to harass *cough* contact the mods on the forum to get this changed if we feel so inclined - there's a thread for the purpose. However, any such change would require 200 votes (2/3).

MessageI'm still thinking on several ideas myself, btw, but I figured that if we get the ball rolling, we could come to some sort of consensus and bounce ideas.

MessageWhen I logged on to day I was thinking about starting a discussion exactly like this one. Personally I like Commonwealth, or United Commonwealth of Pontesi.

MessageA Commonwealth did come to mind... it's a little plain but I could accept it, as much as I thought it could be bettered (but couldn't think of anything better)

The "Pontesian Dynastic Commonwealth" seems to appeal to me - a historical twist, but it raises another question - do people want "The X of Pontesi" or "The Pontesian X" or are they happy with either?

MessageHmm, I was thinking maybe something with Confederacy, but that would probably be rejected because of a certain thing in the US of A. How about something with Cantons? The Union of Potesi Cantons, the United Cantons of Potesi, the Pontesian Cantonal (sp?) Union. Something that reflects the fact are states are indeed diverse.

MessageYes, makes sense, but it would contradict the naming of Pentarchal Satrapies we could swap Cantons with that...

So we have desire for Commonwealth, and something reflecting the diversity of the Pontesian regions. What about the "Dynastic Commonwealth of Pontesian Satrapies"? I know it's a bit long, but we can always shorten it to DCPS.

MessageOn second thoughts, perhaps "Pontesian Dynastic Commonwealth of Satrapies" would be better?

Message'of Satrapies' seems to suggest we're no longer Pontesi but Satrapies, I personally prefer PDC

MessageOk, but perhaps to compromise with the Phalanx's suggestion, what about "Pontesian Dynastic Pentarchal Commonwealth" to give us an adjective we can use whilst assuring nominal unity?
