Of course, it is reasonable to limit the magnitude of weapons the common police officer may wield, but it is also necessary in certain circumstances to have officers who can handle such weapons as sniper rifles and smoke grenade launchers along with various other high tech weapons. These are very important mostly for SWAT teams that must deal with hostage takers and high speed pursuits. |
