Bill: Saving the Businesses of Aldegar

Details

Submitted by[?]: Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2214

Description[?]:

Our businesses are in trouble. Record numbers of private enterprises are failing because of the taxes they have to pay. By doing this our businesses will be saved and our economy will come out of a long recession that it has had since before 2200.

Our corporate taxes make up only 1/48 of our budget (about $1B) and funds have been allocated in a way to allow this bill. I can assure everyone that if our finance policies are followed, we will have a large surplus (then we can lower taxes on low incomes)* and our economy will more than soar!

Article II: Immediately after the Ministry of Finance's Finance Plan of 2212 is passed, the Ministry of Finance will propose a taxation bill that lowers the income tax significantly on the lower income bracket. The tax cuts will be just enough to keep the Aldegar budget surplus.

*note: tax brackets should be able to be lowered by about $5 billion

MessageOur view is that it's better to spend any surplus on cutting income tax for lower and low-to-middle earners.

We don't think 15% is excessively high as far as corporate tax goes. 1% is ridiculous and with such a small percentage the collection costs would be very high relative to the actual revenue.

We believe 20-25% would be a fair corporate tax rate.

MessageHow is that fair? People don't just get money...obviously. They get their money from Aldegar's businesses. By cutting the businesses taxes, the businesses will be less stressed on saving money. Perhaps they will be more reluctant to give raises... Either way money comes from those businesses. You raise their taxes, they need cuts somewhere.

My other finance bills must be passed in order for this package to work. By lowering these taxes and adjusting the others, we will be able lower the low income bracket tax enormously. The 1% corporate tax has been well thought out as well as the other spending bills. Give our ideas a chance for once.
