Bill: RP Event Proposal: Revolt against the Empire

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4733

Description[?]:

This event will happen if at least 76 seats vote in favour of it, according to the RP agreement of 4636 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=608812)
Event:
On 7 July 4732, a middle-aged Luthorian restaurateur, Tony Brimey, shares a video of him on social medias where he criticizes the government and in particular the Weston family, accusing them of leading the country towards dictatorship. He also talks about the supposedly unethical practices of the Weston family concerning business. He then goes on a rant concerning the economic situation of Luthori. The video gets shared millions of times, inside and outside Luthori and goes viral. The following days, anti-Weston groups are created on social medias with some of them talking about "taking action" in the real world.
On 12 July, one of those groups organises a peaceful demonstration in Orange, gathering 15 000 people. Gaining popularity the organisers rename their page "Angry Citizens' Movement" and decide to organise another demonstration on the 17th of July to protest against the Weston Family, the empire and the "destruction of our social security".
7 days after, the 17 July, 150 000 people gathered at the same place, in Orange. Clashes with the police erupted when some protesters tried to move away from the path chosen for the demonstration. There are 170 arrests and 65 injured. Two garbage cans were also burned down during the demonstration.
After the images of the demonstrations were shown on TV, the movement gained momentum all across the country with different demonstration and protests organised on 19 July, 20 July and the following days.
The CPL leader Graham Philips supported the movement but condemned the acts of violence, while another member of the CPL, Dwayne Loops, who lost 3 times the leadership election against Graham Philips, supported the riots and described them "as a part of the class-struggle".
Nonetheless, the movement remains apolitical, republican and "anti-Weston".
On 19 July, the violences escalated when protesters threw bricks at the police in Randamar and Fort William. Reinforcements had to be called to calm the situation. 179 protesters were arrested and 11 police officers were injured.
The same day, the Prime Minister Thomas Weston condemned the violences and called for calm. "The government is working tirelessly to provide good standards of living for the Luthorian people".
On 20 July, there were clashes with the police again in Fort-William, the capital. 25 protesters were arrested and 1 police officer was injured. Also, 10 trashcans were burned down, as well as 1 police car.
The left-wing mayor of Fort-William said that measures will be taken to "ensure safety at the demonstrations".
Protesters also tried to block roads leading to the entrance of companies belonging to the Weston family.
On 21 July, the road blocks were not only targeting the Weston companies but also the city centers. Sometimes, the police forces are powerless when the protesters set tires on fire in the middle of the road.
The same day, 3 members of the White Rose youth organization are beat up by masked individuals with baseball bats. The three currently at the hospital while the attackers fled the scene.
The "Angry Citizen's Movement" request are quite unclear, they are asking for the Weston family to leave politics, the return of the Republic and improvements concerning social security.
What will the government do?
