Message | Mr. Speaker, We cannot agree with the article on regulation of pollution. This must remain enforced to ensure that such standards are actually followed. Private companies, whose goal is to maximize profit above all else, would ignore such guidelines if they can get away with it and we cannot allow that. Except for that article, we could throw our support behind this legislation. While we are at somewhat odds with the article on selective schools due to our recent reformation of the education system away from the Dauxite system, we can let it slide since changing just this policy wouldn't really have much of an effect on the public system at large and could in fact, as you've said, offer more educational opportunities. We agree with the firearms policy change and the prison education wholeheartedly. If this were to not have the policy change on pollution regulation, we would support it. Though if the article remains by the time it comes to the floor, we will abstain from voting on this. Nadine Moray, GPP Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, While we will support this motion at the moment, we would like to return to the gun laws at a later point, we believe a more prudent law to have in place would be "Individuals are allowed to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality." But as it is now we will support this bill. Zayne Bills PLUP Representative |
