Message | Members of the Assembly, This bill displays discrimination against women, and influence of religion in the State. The right to free expression also includes criticism of religion, thus opening the door to "blasphemies" will set a very dangerous precedent. Furthermore, requesting that conscientious objectors can be so only on religious grounds is once again meddling in a personal matter in a state institution. Anyone, regardless of their ideology or thinking, must have the possibility of being a conscientious objector. Beatrice Nese Spokesperson of the Left Bloc |

Message | Hugo Pontelli (MP): It's all about respect, to be frank, and to recognize that we are not all the same. The OFF respect the fact that we are all different by nature, faith and physical abilities and skills. We also think that religion brings structure in life and sufficient awareness and meaning. It brings our people a "moral compass for their future". |
