MessageWay to go for taking this game ENTIRELY too seriously!

Good job! You're full of yourself and cannot do anything to this bill besides mock it!

Wouldn't it be easier to simply say "This is a bad idea, you're raising taxes on the poor" rather than be a prick?

MessageWe believe it is customary to consult the Ministry of Finance before making changes to fiscal policy. We in the Bachelor party were not asked to advise or recommend any adjustments to the taxation structure, and this proposal is wholly illegitimate.

We were placed in the position of heading the Finance Ministry by the Cabinet Proposal of May 2210. That proposal was supported by the SAZ, Frogmarch, Jacobin, and the Social Republican Party. We demand that our place in the cabinet be honored, especially by those who placed us there. If the votes in favor of this proposal by the SRP and Jacobin stand, we will consider it not only a betrayal but an act of decided antipathy and dishonor to the office to which we have been duly nominated and confirmed.

If we want to change taxation policy in this country we can work with the ruling parties to derive a sensible, workable tax structure. And when tax change proposals are made, we will make them. We can work together. But this bill is a clear defiance and a declaration of refusal to work together to govern this nation. It is imcumbent upon each party in this nation to vote "no" to this bill, and we are happy to discuss taxation policy with the ruling and majority parties.

- Ben Derbanka, Minister of Finance, Prefectural Consulate of Zardugal

MessageOOC: Get in character, stay in character. If you're not willing to play the game as if it were real, don't play, get out, don't come back.. You have 75 million people to think about, about 53 million that can vote, and out of those, approximately 4.45 million voted in your favor for representation.

I grow weary of your insults to me by action, and I am merely dealing back in words what I am being given. I am by nature a passionate, if not crude and direct individual. I do not bloody well sip wine in my parlor, enjoying the finer things in life, deluding myself as to what lies outside my walls, I drink beer on the back porch of my apartment, which costs about half my monthly salary despite being four times the size of a toll booth, in the ghetto, and curse a different group of rich bastards than you do for making my life a living hell. I work for a living, and find I must deal with the effects of the crap of your ilk on a daily basis, namely, giving about a fifth of my already floundering check in taxes, and not recieving a dime back while others jump for joy at a refund check.

I am insulted by handouts, insulted by the assertion that I cannot do something difficult on my own and that I need someone else's help to do them, like I'm some useless piece of trash from your gutter, and if my words rile you, good. I'm going to silently take your crap any further. I said it at the jump, get in character, stay in character, or get out and don't come back.

Message...Besides, the people know just as well what is good for them and what is not. If they don't like my policies, they don't have to vote for me, just as you don't have to vote for my bills.

Also, I'm not a rich bastard, and I don't know what gave you that impression.

MessageWe reiterate: The SRP and the Jacobins must respect the integrity of the cabinet they helped to create. We emphatically ask that you reverse your support for this bill, which improperly alters the tax structure in our nation sans any consultation with the Finance Ministry, we will consider it a clear attempt to alienate us as potential political allies. It also shows a clear disregard for the proper distribution of authority, as the cabinet was duly elected and established under the laws set forth under our constitution.

RSP and Jacobin ,all our parties can, and we are willing to, work in a cooperative effort to establish the type of government the people want. To disregard our authority in fiscal matters in this manner is tantamount to a declaration of war between our parties, and that is not something you wish to initiate.

If this bill passes, we will file suit with the Ministry of Justice to have it overturned as unconstitutional, and we may seek censure of those parties who voted for its passage. We note further that the Justice Ministry is in the hands of the very party who nominated our Ben Derbanka to head the Finance Ministry in the first place, and we believe we will receive a fair hearing. This bill constitutes a clear violation of the assigned and elected powers under which our nation is governed.

Random fact: "Game mechanics comes first." For example, if a currently-enforced bill sets out one law, then a player cannot claim the government has set out a contradictory law.
