Bill: RP Event Proposal: Public Transport Strikes - THE GOOD
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4738
Description[?]:
This event will happen if at least 76 seats vote in favour of it, according to the RP agreement of 4636 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=608812) Event: Following the new government reform concerning the funding of public transports where they are "user-pays" instead of being partially subsidized, some bus and train drivers are fearing they might lose their job following a decrease in the demand for public transport due to increased ticket costs for the users. They are asking for a cancellation of the reform and better wages. The trade unions organised strikes all across the country. According to the spokeperson of a known socialist trade union: "The anti-social measures of the governement will decrease the demand for public transport because the price will be too high for a whole lot of people. And then, as they always do, they will dismiss a lot of public transports workers. That is not okay for us." According to some reports, this 25th of May 4735, 15 % of bus drivers are on strike and 10 % of train drivers are too. The minimal service law ensures that at least 50 % of bus and train drivers are working. They are threatening to paralyse the public transport system another day if their demands are not met. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
