Status[?]: passed

Voting deadline: June 4739

Description[?]:

The Conservative Governments last budget of this term covering the policy changes of the last decade which will effect the need or requirement for Departmental funding in Government.

Declaration of Revenue - £237 billion (237,000,000,000) ((http://classic.particracy.net/budget.php?nationid=11))

Current Surplus - £683 million

The Conservative Government has maintained a surplus every year for the last 10 years in power.

We recognise the following changes since our last budget of January 4731 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619550 ):

-End of subsidised contraceptives (Health) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619554
-National Service (Defence) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619552
-End of judicial elections (Justice) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619720
-End of Government gated communities (Internal) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619721
-End of pollution enforcement (Environment) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619723
-End of tuition subsidies for all but retained for low income (Education) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619970 / http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=620294
-End of public transport subsidies (Transport) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619970
-Nationwide census (Internal) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619951
-End of Government cryptocurrency (Finance) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619953
-End of stock and monopolies regulations (Finance) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=619957
-Active home searches for aliens (Internal) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=620292
-End of Government airport involvement (Infrastructure) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=620296
-Eminent Domain compensation (Industry) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=620297
-Youth Parliament (HoG as part of Diet) - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=620188

We therefore recognise that the Budget can include the following legitimately;

INCREASES
Defence
Internal
HoG

DECREASES
Health
Justice
Environment
Education
Transport
Infrastructure
Industry
Finance

However, we recognise that we made substantial reductions on Social Spending in our first term which may be required given employment changes we have undertaken, partially offset by the 1 year retirement age increase. We also recognise that we want to encourage higher education so will maintain that.

MessageAlthough we’d like to see the weight lifted off of the shoulders of the working class with an increase in spending on Trade and Industry, we believe that this is as far as we can strike a cord with the conservative government and therefor we will vote yes, and we urge our fellow left-wing parties to do the same. We must not divide ourselves when we don’t get our way, we must work together.

MessageMr. Speaker,
Mr. Weston,
You can try to get us to approve this bill by increasing social security spending but it doesn't work like that.
Our first objection is: Why such an enormous Head of Government budget? For corruption? The Head of Government should represent the people and not receive 0.42 % of the total State Budget. This would mean that 0.42 % of all the money collected through taxes would be use to renovate your palace. How many cars does Mrs. Jackson need to buy with all of this money? How many houses?
That's just disgraceful! While people have to work until 67 years old now, Mrs. Jackson receives 100 millions of pounds a year.

Also, the increase in the defense budget is not relevant. We have no direct enemies and we should rather spend this for the workers.

Of course, the environment budget is decreased as for you, our planet is nothing but a giant trash that does not even need 1/30 of our budget.

To all of those who support the workers: do not fall into this trap and do not support the hundreds of millions for Mrs. Jackson or the next head of government!

Dwayne Loops, leader of the CPL parliamentary faction.

MessageMr Speaker,
We welcome the increase of spending on social services but this is the wrong way to do so. I have to agree with Mr. Loops' criticism. So much expenditure for HoG is not needed, the same applies to defense (if we have a peaceful diplomatic course then unnecessary).
Whenever cuts are made it is bad and often investments in other sectors cannot compensate the damages caused by cuts. Trade, industry and infrastructure are especially important and the budgets should not be cut. This will do much damage to our country and thus will cause harm to the workers. There are other and much better ways to increase spending on social services.
Even if we really want to increase the expenditure of social services, we will vote against it because I doubt that this will have a positive outcome.

MessageMr Speaker.

Once more, the CPL and CWP ignore the comments and simply oppose.

The Head of Government budget has increased to fund the Youth Parliament, it is not a wage! It will allow for elections and operation of said Parliament at a cost of £95 million.

The Defence increase funds the Luthorian National Service.

The Environment budget can be decreased as we have ended all enforcement of health and safety, pollution and other climate change policies.

Please read the reasons, money for monies sake is pointless, we have reasons for all these chancges.

MessageMr Speaker,
What is so expensive about it that the Speaker chairs the sessions four times a year, that the parliament chamber is available four times a year on the weekend for the youth parliament? What so expensive about the youth centres being open every 3 years where the young people can vote? The young parliamentarians are not eve paid.

MessageMr Speaker,

100 million Luthorians, there are a lot of young people, it is economical ineptitude to think there is no cost involved in transporting the elected from all across Luthori to the Diet chamber, to facilitating a national election even if in youth centres which are private so would need to be hired anyway, to employing people to run and oversee said election and the Parliament itself. We did not want it, it is clear the CWP put minimal thought in to it, but it is law so we will fund it fully.
