Bill: The Ecumenical People's Church of Rildanor

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lutte Féministe de Libération

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2215

Description[?]:

The time has come to officially recognize the spiritual roots of Rildanor's people. The Ecumenical People's Church of Rildanor is a diverse, loose coalition of religious organizations that seek an established role at the heart of Rildanor's government.

Member chapters include Christain (both Protestant and Catholic), Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist churches, as well as smaller groups of some of Rildanor's less recognized religions. It also includes several humanist and agnostic chapters.

The separation of church and state is dead. Upon passage of this bill, the Ecumenical People's Church of Rildanor will be the recognized spiritual branch of the Rildanor people. Although not compulsory, its existence will reinforce strong values among the people and return the nation to its spiritual existence.

MessageI do believe the phrase "Hell No" best describes our stance on this. I don't care if you say this is voluntary or not if you start legislating a religion you leave the door way open abuses. I am adamantly against this.

MessageThis is a democracy and as such you need to realize that you can't please everyone in a democracy. Hence why in democratic states when it comes to religion its secular in nature. This is just a lame attempt at getting votes for your failing party.

MessageYou hit the nail right on the head. It's an undeniably blatant attempt to appeal to the religious vote in Zirdor and Nirald, support that we desperately need.

MessageAs long as the RWE realizes this bill supports and tolerant and open Church, with no discrimination based on type of worship, sexual orientation, etc, we are happy to have them on board.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
