Message | The Republican Party's previous tax structure was not as harsh as these brackets are, and furthermore we would have made more income. |
Date | 08:16:03, April 14, 2006 CET | From | Progressive Conservatives | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of December 2213 |
Message | The Republicans' previous proposal provided only slightly more tax income than this proposal (by about 2%) but put too much burden on the poor. We fail to see how this proposal is "harsh" considering that it dramatically reduces the burden on the poor while only slightly increasing taxes for only those among the richest in the nation. |

Message | The "flat rate" tax system would work well where there was little disparity between the rich and the poor. Sadly, that is not the case in Aldegar. "Flat rate" does not benefit the poor: 30% of a poor man's income is a much higher opportunity cost than 30% of a rich man's income. "Flat rate" also does not benefit the rich: it furthers disparity and increases poverty, which lead to an overall decline in the prosperity, health, and safety of the state. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
