Description[?]:
Lab and the CRP have come to an agreement with how state legislatures should run. We would like to hear what other parties have to say about it. Govenors Governors are elected by the party which has the most votes at the end of voting. What happens is that each party decides the order who they want their votes to go to before the election in each state. In each state to be crowned governor you have to get over 50% of the vote. For this to happen parties are eliminated one after the other. Their votes go to the highest chosen candidate still in the race. This is repeated until one person gets 50% of the vote and is crowned the winner. If a party does not give a designated list, their votes are kept and ignored untill all but the two must popular parties are left. Their votes go to the party which has the most similar veiws to them. Then the victor is crowned the govenor. OOC: Each party should right their state list on each of the state legislature pages. Govenors can decide what government runs the state. They can chose to have a single party govenment or a coalition. This does not need support from the assembly as parties would have already shown support for the govenment if they give their votes to a different party. The govenor also has to vote for the bill for it to pass unless 2/3rds of assemblymen voted in favour. The govenor however does not have o vote strictly on party lines and can vote in any way he or she likes. Assembly Each state has a 50 seat assembly with 45 seats elected proportionally and 5 seats going to the largest party in that state. All laws have to pass through the assembly to become the law of that state. The government may not have a majority in the assembly and may rely on support from other parties to get laws passed, however if the govenor wants to veto a law he or she has the posiblity unless 2/3rd of assemblymen disagree. Laws State Assemblies control These are the laws which each state has their own say over: Legality of Cryptocurrency Fireworks Laws Gambling Laws Industrial Hemp If their should be a salary cap When to implement curfew (Only Allowed In State of Emergency) Jury Duty Police/Law Enforcement in the state Police presence on streets Legality of charter school Museum and Library System (funded by national gov) If the state runs forest management If it is legal to keep wild animals as pets If Weapons should be concealed These are subject to change if the national government devolve more powers or take more powers away. The state government also hands out some benefits and maintains roads in their state unless it is an interstate highway. States cannot change these laws though and have to do this as said by the national government. Can all parties please voice their opinions. This will go to vote before the next election and if it passes this will be how state governments run. |

Message | We have just realsied their may be more than 50 seats alocated if we use percentage of the vote as we round up and down. In this case we suggest we work out the parties seats in order of vote and reward the larger partiews all of their seats they should have and then stop working out seats when 45 have been distributed. |
