Message | BBP, no. You forget that with Capitalism, the people indirectly control business. They tell business what they like and not; business listens. If people get ripped off by their energy company, they can switch. Or, if every company is bad, they can make their own company. This is a free society; business is also free. |

Message | So then we will have a million(rhetorical) companies to monitor? i know that you love private business but if we cant monitor the things these business do then We Fail as a goverment and there is no reason for us to exist. think. |
Date | 02:12:06, April 20, 2006 CET | From | Free Conservative Party | To | Debating the Freedom III |
Message | No, no, no. WE do not monitor the private business; the people do. In what they buy, subscribe to, or use. The people monitor business themselves without meaning to; they do it accidentally! That is the beauty of the system! The PEOPLE take on the very small responsibility of chosing what to buy, and the market is regulated! THEY take it on, not us. Democracy. "but if we cant monitor the things these business do then We Fail as a goverment and there is no reason for us to exist." The government has 2 purposes. 1) to maintain order 2) to protect the people. Everything else is inefficient; it can be left to the people. |

Message | I understand that you are trying to give the people power, ok np not mad at you. But. we were ELECTED in parliament and parties are elected to HOS to handle the govermental duties. we are "hired" to be watchdogs we are "hired" to handle country business and the list can go on forever. secondly if the people do have all this power what will we do. im a little to young to retire now lol. |

Message | We were elected to parlement. But: unless we have as many parlement members as we do people, it will not be a true democracy. You can get very close, but never close enough. This will get us closer. We each have our own philosophies and they differ greatly. In your way, you take the majority of people and say "ok, everybody be like this." It really is not fair to the little guy. My way lets the little guy have a choice, while still giving the majority what they want. |

Message | im going to be a bit real with you(taking off suit and tie lol) Everyone CANNOT be pleased. its called life, and trust me brother, it aint fair. its ruthless, and people tend to get looked over. i dont like it but its the world we live in, Its also called sacrifice, we sacrifice things to please the people and etc. Now as for the bill. Energy is provided by private companies which are not subject to any special regulations. NO Regulations? uh huh, even if the people say this and say that and decide. its the private companies overall decision, and you know what, WE WONT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHIGN ABOUT IT. As for now: we will remain unsupportive. TY DK BBP(KP) |

Message | The Conservative Party merely wishes to make as much money for its wealthy members as possible and has not got the interests of Jelbania or her people in its heart. The DLP intends to oppose the Conservative Party on every front. |
Date | 04:33:01, April 23, 2006 CET | From | Free Conservative Party | To | Debating the Freedom III |
Message | DLP, I do not HAVE members of my party! This is a simulation. Obviously, I cannot make much money through this. Saying that I am trying to line my pockets and make my friends rich is a ridiculus comment. I assure you I believe in what I am arguing. |

Message | BBP, protect our people from WHAT??? Business owners are not evil demons coming to devour our souls!!!!! The private companies DO make the overall decisions. However, if that decision is a bad one, another company will arise and people will go elsewere!!!! They do not NEED to be protected. PEOPLE ARE NOT STUPID. |
Date | 16:46:21, April 24, 2006 CET | From | Centre Démocratique | To | Debating the Freedom III |
Message | Let's be realistic, corporations have enormous power over their employees and their consumers. Yes, all business owners are not evil demons, but there needs to be a balance - and government can do that. We support the current policy because it allows local governments to make the rules for their communities. The Citizens Party is deeply committed to decentralization. Forcing all energies companies to privatize and stripping away the power of local governments and communites to regulate them is a tremendous step backwards in our journey to create a more democratic, sustainable society. This will only cause Jelbanians to feel more alienated from government and society. It am honored to join the BigBoss Party, Socialists Fury, and the Democratic Labour Party in voting against this measure. |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
