Message | There are too many policies being proposed here to be likely to obtain sufficient support for the bill as a whole. Clearly, the CDP is generally in favour of devolution to local governments, which the Alliance is for some policies, but not specifically for the ones being addressed here. As a compromise, the Alliance will introduce its own bill alongside this one for two of the articles above. Although the Alliance's proposals are not the same as the CDP's, there is sufficient flexibility in the Alliance ones to allow policies to be set at local level which would achieve the same purpose as the CDP intended. |
