Bill: Repeal of Mandatory National Service
Details
Submitted by[?]: Lodamese Democratic Progressive Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4799
Description[?]:
The legislation that had just passed on military restructuring had a provision we want to revisit and repeal. We do not believe the people of our nation should be forced into serving a term of national service. This kind of decision should be up to the individual whether they want to serve the nation, not something to be forced upon them, especially during peacetime. |
Proposals

Old value:: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve a term in the military.
Current: All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military.

Message | Mr. Speaker, military service would be a process of many years to ensure we have the capability of defending ourselves. This fits in the plan of Minister Skrtel. We cannot support the current proposition. We could manage with the choice between military or civilian service. Inge Loons PNG |

Message | OOC: I think you should settle over if the anarchist commune north in andalay province will continue to exist, the bill confirming it still exists and is enforced. |

Message | OOC: We are still continuing to allow the Communes to exist as per that aforementioned bill. To my knowledge, that isn't changing anytime soon. If there were a conflict or danger to their autonomy, the GPP would move to protect their autonomy. |
