| Make provision about offences involving stirring up hatred against persons on racial grounds. - amends provisions relating to offences involving stirring up hatred against persons on racial grounds. * * * A person who uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or displays any written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting, is guilty of an offence if - he intends thereby to stir up racial hatred, or - having regard to all the circumstances the words, behaviour or material are (or is) likely to be heard or seen by any person in whom they are (or it is) likely to stir up racial hatred. |

| Message | The PGC are not happy with Theta's strategy of lumping racial and religious hatred together like they were the same, or similar crimes. A person does not choose a race, he is born to it. A race is not a set of ideas which can be right or wrong, it is a biological fact. A person is free to choose a religion. It is a set of ideas which can be right or wrong and therefore any and every person is free to scrutinise, deriside and hold contempt for it. If Theta wishes to bring a religious hatred bill before the Assembly they should do so seperatly from this racial hatred bill. |
