Bill: RP: Strikes against the government plans

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Movement

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4825

Description[?]:

This event will happen with a majority of seats voting in favor of this motion since it moderately impacts the game, according to the RP agreement of 4636 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=608812)
Event: Following the decision of the government to significantly decrease Health, social services and infrastructure budgets, many trade unions have decided to start nationwide strikes to protest the decisions of the government.
"The anti-social budget of the government is unacceptable! Decreasing pensions is not fair and only impacts the poors. It's time for the far-right to leave office and have fresh elections. We are not going to give in to the pressure and we'll keep striking until our demands are met."
The strikes have a moderate impact on the economy. Experts predicts that will slow GDP growth by -0.3 % this year.

MessageMr. Speaker,
Those strikes are unacceptable! The left is paying trade unions and militants to destabilise our country and its prosperity. We won't back down, because those people only represent themselves. The Luthorian People voted for Mr. Carter, not for those leftists. My ministry will make sure our police officers and the law is respected during these strikes. We suggest implementing a new law banning strikes, because striking is only a weapon for the left.

Count William of Hurrington, Internal Affairs Minister.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We would still like to remind you that "those leftists" had a majority, so The Luthorian people did vote for "those leftists" and you very well know that.

Leader of HPL

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
