It is with the most deepest sadness that the Imperial House make this announce to the Nation and trasmit it to the National Assembly:

His Imperial Majesty Emperor Michele II was struck yesterday evening at around 10.30 pm by severe heart failure and despite the sudden intervention of the doctors and a desperate rush to the Deodato II Polyclinic unfortunately Michele II left us at 01.08 am of 28 April 4827. He was only 63 years old. The team of doctors from the Polyclinic who intervened to rescue the Emperor made it known that the in-depth investigations conducted during the night revealed the presence of a congenital heart malformation which, although small, so much so that it was not discovered in all of these years, caused serious heart failure which led to the death of the Emperor. It is not excluded that the responsibilities following his accession to the throne have caused an increase in stress and fatigue such as to permanently compromise the situation.

The Empress was with His Majesty when he was struck by the heart failure and rushed to the Deodato II Polyclinic with him. Grand Prince Tommaso, his wife Princess Eugenié and their son Grand Prince Alessandro were at the Villa Colonnati, official residence of the Heir to the Throne, when they have been informed. The whole Imperial House have been informed in the meantime.

A meeting of the Imperial High Council was convened in the moorning to officialy proclaim the accession of the Grand Prince of the Crown Tommaso.

The ArchChancellor of the Empire announces immediatly his ascension as Tommaso II of Istalia.

The Act of Accession to the Throne will be transmitted to the Congress of the Empire to be transcribed on its records and deposited in its archives.

His coronation will be held late in the year after a suitable mourning period.

Since next Wednesday Emperor Michele's body will lie for four days in the Throne Hall of Quattroregni Palace, open to the public so to allow to give their last respects to His Majesty to those who whish to do it.

The State Funeral is planned to be held the next Mondey at the Church of All Angels of Romula.

Long live Emperor Tommaso II!
