MessageThe NUP welcomes the recent changes removing the punishment for blasphemy. However, it still seems strange that while individuals already within our borders may undertake evangelism freely - foreigners attempting to enter the nation for that same purpose are forbidden, without room for individual assessment. We instead propose that the Foreign Ministry may choose on an individual basis, if the person attempting entry is worthy of being welcomed into our borders.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Prior to the latest election, there was a near unanimous consensus among the honorable members here that this act should be supported. I know that my opinion has certainly not changed, nor has that of my.... conspicuously and unfortunately unrepresented party.

We hope that those who ere successful in seeking election to this chamber, will continue to show their support and once again, vote in favour.

John Hartnell.
Head, NUP Foreign Affairs.
