Message | "The government may seize private property for any reason." - You wish to bring down a tyrannical government but also give it the right to take citizen's property on a whim? The only justification I can imagine is to free slaves, but if slavery is illegal the government could free slaves without the first law. We will never support this suspension of property rights. |

Message | Property rights! The property in question is the illegitimately stolen loot 'owned' by former slavers, gained through their ownership of humans as property. Manche rightly teaches that slavers surrender all 'property rights' by their participation in the ownership of people. To have it otherwise is to say that people ought to be able to keep the loot they gain through theft and murder. |

Message | You wish to revoke slave-owners 'property rights' thus turning them into economic slaves and its still slavery, only by the government. The fact of the matter is that owning slaves is/was not illegal, and we cannot punish citizens for following the law. Also remember, the government (justice department) was the entity that ordered criminals be put into slavery. Who are we ruin the lives of those who do our bidding. |

Message | It is not 'economic slavery' to take the ill-gotten goods from criminals and collaborationists and give them to their rightful owners. It is justice. Just because tyrants declare evil to be legal does not mean we are bound to protect those who took an active role in it. We can and will punish those that willingly took part in the crimes of the Renner regime. Maybe not now, but soon. |

Message | The fact of the matter is that the law was the law and, unfortunately, they didn't break it. It is a major legal principle not to retroactively punish people who performed acts only later declared illegal. Also, why should we give any government the right to take any property that belongs to anyone at any time they please? Even the tyranical government you seek to punish did not go so far. In your quest for vengeance you become those you disgust. |

Message | Eh, we don't find the "...but it was legal at the time" excuse to count for much when it comes to crimes against humanity. Under regimes like that of the Renner, the law becomes nothing more than a convenient fig leaf to try to hide behind. Manche teaches that there is a deeper law - a deeper law that is the standard against which other laws (and actions more generally) must be judged. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
