Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,
there is something that for decades, for a very remote time, all governments and political forces of this nation always avoid to do. Something strangly rejected by any sort of political force which challenged elections in Istalia and led governemnts: a reform of the Sale Tax on Essential Goods, although it is time we call it with its real name: Sale Tax on Ordinary Goods!

A costant of the economic policy of this nation, a veritable dogma, has been the imposition through personal incomes, business income and, a lot, through luxury income, leaving ordinary sale tax at the lowest level possible, for the benefit of a kind of people that in Istalia doesn't exist no more since centuries: nobody today cannot afford an increase in sale tax! We are Istalia, a nation with an economy leading the world markets and we would like remember that we are also a nation which recognizes a lot of services to the citizens.

Sale tax is very fair, it is something easy to apply and doesn't discriminate or create situations or issues that the services of the nations must handle. For this reason, we think that an increasing of the ordinary sale tax up to 5% should be adopted.

This will allow us to decrease furthermore the income tax and the business class, people will have more money into the pocket, larger income to spend with benefit for the whole economy. The increase in the sale tax will be more than compensated by the decrease of the cost of work and taxation on, with increase in productivity and so on.

Thank you

- Bruno Moschardini,
Minister of Finance

Thank you
