Description[?]:

Good Evening Distinguished Members of Assembly,

Some of you may be aware of whom I am, for those of you who are not, My Name is Duke Jack Simms of Merton in Delvar. My Party was once the Constitutional Solidarity party before evolved into the Most Noble Order of Stag, of the currently active parties mine is the second eldest preceded only by the Social Egalitarian Party.

Together with both the SEP and the DFP the MNOS lead Rutania through an age of glory and wealth, I return to you today to do the same, prior to establishing our party we have already gained the support of nations spanning across the globe. we hope to further this by today calling that this house does now disassemble and prepare for elections. This is to allow the peoples of our nation to have their say to provide this house with a true and representative mandate to govern.

Kindest Regards

Duke Jack Simms MP PC LL.D DPm

MessageThe NPR notes that the democratically elected assembly is halfway through its present term, and notwithstanding the disollution of National Union Party (representing less than 2% of the seats), comfortably retains a democratic mandate. In contrast, the MNOS has deserted the people of Rutania for over 60 years and feels as though if its entitled to call for elections for its own political benefit.

The NPR will of course oppose this premature call for elections. The people of Rutania see through the self-interested and entitled attempt at overturning a mandate given to the assembly less than 3 years ago. We ask all parties to oppose this resolution.

MessageThe NPR calls our move self-interested but is perfectly happy to allow 1.8% of our Nation to go unrepresented in our decision-making process. I am sure Miss Claire Peters knows that all Rutanians should be represented if she thinks 1.8 per cent is no mater, I'm sure she would like to tell that to 1,794,755, after all, that is 1.8%of Rutania, I'm sure she would be happy to oppose this seen as with this diminished sitting she holds more of a majority and she has the Cheek to call our party Self interested?

Our party stands for fairness, for transparency. Our party did not desert the people, we returned to our charity work, to our lobby work and to our political backing, we have spent time in the shadows campaigning for a true rutania.

We therefor implore the NPR to allow the people to decide.

Kindest Regards

MessageThe TPF have also become inactive. We now have 110 empty seats in the house.

The SEP will vote in favour of an early election, and the DFP also expressed a desire to hold an election when the NUP dissolved. If the DFP agrees to the election, this would make 282 seats in favour of an election. After all 22% of our nation is now insufficiently represented.

The SEP implores the NPR to support this call for an early election to fill this gap in voter representation.

MessageWe Speak now directly to the National Party of Rutania the assembly is maimed, what do you stand to lose from an election that needs to happen to ensure that all of rutania is represented, I implore you to change your vote.

22 per cent of the Assembly now sits vacant, this cannot be allowed to continue this equates to 21,946,716 Rutanians being unrepresented, does the NPR really advocate rule without representation, if so they are not only a shame to this house but to the nation.

my final plea, change your vote, vote yes and face the nation in fresh elections

MessageThe NPR will vote yes on the basis that now a signficant number of seats sit vacant after the dissolution of the TPF. However, the NPR is under no illiusion that this bill as first intended by the MNOS represented a desperate, opportunistic attempt at re-entry into the Assembly. The notion that the people of Rutania ought be subjected to a full-blown general election every time a party, no matter how small, ceases to exist, is utter madness and undermines Rutania's electoral system.

Under the warped logic of the MNOS and others, a single-seat Party could hold the whole nation to ransom by unilaterally dissolving. Short of a by-election mechanism, the solution to hold a general election at the slightest sign of 'under-representation' (no matter how small) is ludicrous. The people tire of perpetual elections and governing cycles cut in half by short-sightedness and self-interest.

Proving yet again that it is not self-serving and here only for the good of the people, the NPR will support the bill as the circumstances have materially changed. As the SEP pointed out, 22% is significant. 1.8% is not. It is the view of the NPR that the requisite threshold to justify a general election has been met. We do sincerely hope that the people of Rutania do not reward the MNOS at the upcoming election for their dishonest opportunism.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
