Description[?]:

When nations are in cases of serious threat, it should be allowed to force people holding VITAL information to speak. This is to avoid putting the national security at risk.

the HPP therefore wants to allow torture, but only when the information it extorts is vital for saving lives.

MessageInformation gained through torture, no matter how vital it may be deemed, is so likely to be untrue as to make any information useless. A victim under torture will say anything in order to stop said torture and so any information cannot be trusted and could in fact place any operatives/police/soldiers etc at risk should they follow it.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Random quote: "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." - Thomas Jefferson
