The so-called "Democratic" party of our great nation has proved itself over and over to not only have a restrictive positioning in civil rights, as well as undone changes and implementations of PSL has proposed over four hundred years ago to fight discrimination and inequality in several state institutions. Message | "The PSL seems to harbour a misunderstanding about the nature of democracy. All those laws were enacted by a democratic majority that was arrived at by democratic elections. You may not like their content, but they were democratic decisions. When, and if, the PSL and its allies ever win a majority, the decision to overturn those laws will be just as democratic as the decision to enact them. And when, and if, the UDT ever wins a majority again, the decision to reenact most of the current laws will be just as democratic. The UDT fights for the right to make these decisions, and for the right to change them when the political majorities change. If ever the PSL manages to enact the proposals in this bill, we will accept that that decision was arrived at in a democratic way, but we will also attempt to restitute the laws which we think are right when we get a chance." Salomão Torres, Primeiro-Ministro da República Democrática |
Date | 14:32:28, December 26, 2020 CET | From | Partido Monárquico | To | Debating the The Liberty Bill |
Message | In an interview at the entrance to the PSL headquarters, presumed Presidential Candidate of PSL, João Alves, answered the questions related to the statement released by the Primeiro Ministro's Press Secretary: "Although I respect the democratic elections in which Primeiro Ministro Salomão was elected, I can not close my eyes nor the eyes of the population to the fact that a democratic election with only one option is not a democratic election. UDT's reign as the sole political power of Tukarali will end, and I believe that cooperation with FPE and IP will result in a coalition to bring true change to our nation." When questioned about the changes made to the New Economic Policy (NEP) proposed by the spiritual ancestor of PSL - PSLD - the Candidate answered: "Although I think that some of those concepts and ideas wouldn't fit in out current situation, I do not believe that changing a law that helped us surpass a major economic stagnation is the best course of action. But, I think that is a matter for the future, when we get to the Capitol." |
