Bill: WMD Reserve the Right Bill 4876

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzia Renewal Party (BRP)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4877

Description[?]:

This proposal in no way condones the use of weapons of mass destruction.
The perennial argument about "endorsing" them or banning them is often wrongly based upon the assumption that those who wish to retain them also wish to use them.

The BRP has no such views. It has no intention of using such weaponry, but neither does it have any intention of reducing our deterrence.

Having national policies which reserve the right to research, develop and store weapons of mass destruction (as this country does) is a complete waste of money if we send a clear message to any potential aggressors that we have no intention of using them.

MessageThe BRP does not wish to stifle debate on this issue, but we feel that minds are inevitably already made up on such matters, so no amount of discussion will change the others' point of view.

However, feel free to debate as a subsequent bill can be produced should arguments convince the BRP against its current proposals.
