-- OVERVIEW --

In ancient times, the largest part of the modern Endralon's area was uninhabited; the Enetric settlement of Nova Kundar ("New Kundar") was the only inhabited part, founded around 700 BCE, by migrants from Jildrati, located on the western part of the Vörös Mountain, near to the source of the Dáma river. Around 50 CE, a large number of Delic/Deltarian peoples, using the instability of the Kingdom of Anluin, successfully crossed the area of the modern Kundrati, and settled down in the northern and southern lands of the modern Endralon, mainly on coasts of either the Unholy Sea or the Artanian Sea. There are several information on wars between the Enetric and Delic peoples, which (due to the technological advancement of the former) often resulted in the enslavement of Delics by Enetrics.

Around 400 CE, the Syldavians, an ethnic group originated in Seleya, but lived in Makon on the islands of Bindeborg, started an invasion of the modern Endralon from the Unholy Sea, first conquering the free northern Delics, and then, after long fights, the cities of Nova Kundar and their southern Delic territories as well. At the time of 600 CE, the Syldavian tribes controlled almost the entire area of the modern Endralon, after what they just called the Honfoglalás ("the Conquest"). Since the Conquest, the area experienced strong Syldavian domination that united Enetric technological advancement and Delic agricultural methods with their own war experiences to benefit their empire. After the Syldavians' opening to the world, many new ethnics and peoples entered Endralon during the almost 4400 years of its existence.

-- ETHNICITY --

Syldavian stayed the dominant ethnicity of the country, but during history it divided to several smaller subgroups. The Urban Syldavians usually settled down south to the Vörös Mountain, between the Dáma and Besplatno rivers, and they created a strong connection with the Enetric peoples especially regarding culture; in modern terms, Urban Syldavians are the majority subgroup of the ethnicity, not related to any other subgroups, usually living in cities. Mountaineer Syldavians are the largest ethnic minority in the modern Zergon, they are historically living north to the Vörös Mountain, and established huge cultural exchanges with the Delic peoples, especially the Zergonese. Western Syldavians living especially in the modern Kundár-Nova Zergonska, historically they were known as assimilated Enetrics, currently they are the largest subgroup of Syldavians together with the Urban Syldavians in the western Canton. New Endralonians were colonists to New Endralon and Kizenia during the Endralonian Empire's colonial period, and the subgroup living in Endralon settled down in the modern Kundár-Nova Zergonska together with the migrating Kizenians; the huge majority of New Endralonians living in the modern country of New Endralon and Kizenia.

Delic influence is still large in Endralon. At some point in history, the Delic tribe divided into northern and southern tribes, the northerners are known as Zergonese, the southerners are known as Hugalonese in modern times. The Zergonese population is definitely larger, mostly living in the Canton of Zergon, being the absolute ethnic majority group of the Canton. The Hugalonese ethnicity usually living in the southern parts of the Canton of Hugalon and the Canton of Efínia, near to the northern coasts of the Artanian Sea. The southerner Delic tribes during the reign of Nova Kundar were enslaved and dependent on the Enetrics who considered themselves superior; this was the main reason that during the Second Endralonian Civil War (4715-4733) the fascist-monarchist side genocided the Hugalonese population. This is the main reason that the Hugalonese ethnicity is far behind the Zergonese in population in modern days.

Other notable ethnics groups are the Dundorfian, who settled down in Endralon during the Hosianization period of the country in the Middle Ages, mostly following Dundorfian priests and knights. They are living in the Canton of Alt-Ginbár in majority, mostly in the eastern end of the Vörös Mountain. Kizenians (together with New Endralonians) living in the centre of Kundár-Nova Zergonska, just as Kundrati people who are mainly living in Endralon because the neighborhood of the two countries. As one of the centres of globalization, many other ethnicites also living all around Endralon, but mostly in the capital Hugamest, that is a multicultural metropolis.

-- RELIGION --

In recent centuries, Endralon is known as one of the most secular countries on the planet, with more than half of the population being independent from any religions. Especially the Urban Syldavians, the Hugalonese and other smaller ethnics holding strong agnostic and atheistic standpoints (living mostly in big cities), but still embracing some kind of "common sense" spiritualism during everyday life. The leading non-religious bastions are the metropolises, including the capital city Hugamest, Újmakon and Régiházikó. The regression of religiosity in the country is the result of the consumer society and globalized worldview, giving space for scientific advancement, philosophy and free life-style, that all are contributing to Endralon's secular nature.

Hosianism still contributing to the society, though. The historically most followed Hosian church in Endralon, the Ameliorate is the most popular among practicing Hosians, all over the country, especially in the Canton of Alt-Ginbár (by Dundorfians mostly) and in the Canton of Zergon (by mostly Zergonese). The Aurorian Patriarchal Church is the characteristic religion of the rural peoples in Northern-Hugalon, who are constantly being labelled as the most conservative part of the country (they're mostly Mountaineer Syldavians who migrated from the northern end to the southern end of the Vörös Mountain). The Terran Patriarchal Church is mostly followed by the migrating Kizenians and New Endralonians, in the Canton of Kundár-Nova Zergonska.

Among many other exotic religions, the Revivalist movement of the ancient religion Anluanism (practiced among others by the peoples of Nova Kundar) got many space in the second half of the 49th century in Endralon. The religion in majority, followed by upper class Urban Syldavians, but it is also sympathetic to the ethnic Kundrati population because of cultural similarities. Regardless of Urban Syldavians, Anluanism collectively considered as the "religion of the upper class", no matter the ethnicity, hence it is mainly popular in Hugamest and other larger industrial or financial centres of the country, like Újmakon.

-- LANGUAGE --

The official national language in most Cantons is the Syldavian (Hungarian) language, except the Canton of Zergon where the Zergonese (Croatian) language is the official. Hugalonese (Slovenian), Dundorfian (German) and Kizenian (Romanian) are recognized regional languages in every Cantons. Luthorian (English), as a foreign language obligatory to learn in primary and high schools, is widely spoken, the majority of the population (regardless of ethnicity) understand it. In reality, Syldavian (Hungarian) is also widely spoken by the large majority of population (regardless of ethnicity), and serves as the national language of the country, while Zergonese (Croatian) serves the same purposes within the borders of the Canton of Zergon.
