Status[?]: defeated

This bill if passed will order the Ministry of Internal Affairs to begin a new emergency shelter program. “ Project Salvation” as it shall be called from now on, will build over a dozen large bunker complexes throughout the interior of Luthori. The bunkers will be built to survive a nuclear war, volcanic eruptions, and any potential societal breakdowns. The potential inhabitants of these bunkers shall be chosen based off of their skills and genetics ( we don’t want the inhabitants to all have genetic diseases after all). |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This is un-Hosian. The honourable gentleman should step back from the cliff's edge of eugenics and Social Dominguism (OOC: Social Darwinism) he is standing on with his talk of choosing according to genetics. It is the government's responsibility to protect all Luthorians. Ernie Attridge MID for Southfork |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We need to create a system where as many people as possible have access to shelter, not just those with good genes, whatever that may be, however, we do wish to have a public system of shelters, because of that we will abstain from this bill. Message | Honorable Minister Attridge, This is not eugenics. I think you might be misinterpreting the bill. When I say genetics I am talking about genetic diseases and conditions. I am not talking about race, the NCP is far from a racist party. I understand your point on letting everyone into the shelters, but you need to accept the reality that we just can’t save everyone. If each bunker has around 500 people in it, we would need to build at least 200,000 bunkers to save the whole population of Luthori. I don’t think I need to tell you the absolute nightmare it would be to try to build that many bunkers, and that’s not even factoring in all the supplies we would need inside the bunkers after they’re completed. So instead of us denying reality by trying to save everyone in Luthori from the Great Collapse, I propose this option instead: instead of trying to build 200,000 bunkers in the ridiculous attempt to save everyone, we instead build 1,250 bunkers housing 400 males and 400 females each. Joshua Evans, Speaker for the NCP in the Imperial Diet. |
