Bill: OOC: In the event the Communists are inactivated

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4942

Description[?]:

It is looking increasingly likely that the Communists may be inactivated, having not logged in for four days. In the event they are inactivated, I believe we should allow the Diet to run its term without calling for early elections. Over the next few days I am planning to post about multiple state visits to foreign countries to improve relations; WhiteDress's party still has low visibility and it would be unfair to call an election, which would give them the 'first election boost' newly-created parties receive, when they would be likely to win very few seats; and we have had already had an excessive number of early elections in the recent past (4931, 4932, 4934, 4935).

MessageOOC: In addition, parliamentary arithmetic will not change. The current coalition will still have a majority, not a supermajority but a narrow majority, and will not have been impacted by the ComPL's dissolution.

MessageOOC: if you already have RP planned, i can agree to not call early elections, but early elections would still be preferrable.

MessageOOC: then I will not support an early election, because this game has lost lots of popularity, it's important to keep RP alive.

No this is a sham. We have always filled the open seats and should continue to do so. Trying to stop an election will make you look illegitimate.

I understand and know that it is tradition to call early elections upon dissolution of a party, but I'd rather bring more RP, as the current state of the game is close dead, only a few active RPers exist in the game as of now, and to keep this game alive, it's better to steer from that if it creates more RP.

Don't get me wrong, I also support calling early elections when there are empty seats, but I think this situation is different.

Yeah, if that is better for all, I think it might work that LWP finishes their RP asap, and we call early elections once the communists are inactivated. But I think the planned RP should not go to waste because of this.

I still believe we should follow the early elections tradition, however if you have a lot of stuff written already, get it out ASAP so we can call them.

Sorry, I've been inactive lately I've been busy with other stuff. I was going to deactivate tonight, but can wait until closer to the election if that would be easier.

MessageIt's up to you. If you are going to deactivate closer to the election would be more convenient, but I've written up the visits into a single news post which has been posted on the forum now.
