Bill: Institute for Government Reform — Economic reforms
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4965
Description[?]:
Proposals from the Institute for Government Reform think tank. Advertising: The nature of the restrictions, or the imposition of an outright ban, would be left to the duchies. Alcohol: Licensing laws would be left to the duchies. Child labour: Work in family businesses and 'light work' such as paper rounds would be allowed. Employers' obligations: Remove national payroll contribution requirements and allow the duchies to make the laws. While a move to an exemption for small- and medium-sized enterprises was considered, this would simply disadvantage them as an employment choice. (OOC: Quota proposal is there to ensure that this won't pass with a simple majority.) |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
