| We propose a repeal of the Name Amendments (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=643981) and Name Rehauls (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=644650) that were passed under the UCCR dictatorship. A democratic and free Dankuk should restore the historical names of our cities. The names implemented under the UCCR are symbols of a divisive dictatorship and are a lingering artifact of the regimes attempt to rewrite history. | Message | Not being in favor of the UCCRยดs repression of religious beliefs we are admiring its social achievements. It was not absolutely the society of mutual love as we wish, but close to it. Therefore we reject the renaming of cities that were done by this legitimate government that cared about the material well of the people. |

| Message | We would like to point out some key problems with the changes that were made under the UCCR. 1) Above all else, the most repugnant fact regarding these name changes was the elimination of non-Kyo identity. The name changes implemented by the UCCR were ethnocentric and were a component of the regime's attempt to force Kyo culture upon non-Kyo. Repealing the UCCR changes revives both Draniano and Draddwyr city names. It also eliminates the unnecessary application of Kyogul to non-Kyo cities. 2) Within these changes, the use of the name Taeyang for a city is deplorable and it is a revival of terminology directly associated with other past totalitarian dictatorships and personality cults. Taeyang must go. ---------- And an OOC 3) In all seriousness, it'd be better if we just have region and city names in one common romanized form; no doubled languages, no Kyogul+transcription. It just makes things confusing, particularly for new people. |
