Bill: Alliance (4954-4981)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4982
Description[?]:
Following a disastrous party conference which saw the three candidates for the leadership each receive 31 votes, and a poorly-thought-out tie-breaking game of rock paper scissors end in a Mexican standoff, the party's dietary caucus has scattered: the Duringish conservatives to the MTP, the opportunistic hangers-on in all directions, and the trade unionist faction to a new party altogether... Through wheeler-dealing and defections, the government somehow retains the confidence of the Diet. (OOC: That is to say, I will be voting against early election motions.) --- 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (4954-present) The Alliance is a national-conservative and right-wing populist political party in Luthori, founded in 4954. It defines its views as "Orangist", a complicated mix of Luthorian exceptionalism and Hosian nationalism with origins in the 17th century (when, at the time, it was extraordinarily liberal). 𝐋𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 (4951-present) Founded by former members of Ord's radical Hosian faction, the Luthorian Covenant Society seeks the restoration of Orangist values, the monarchy, and a godly Empire. It is a pressure group, now aligned with the Alliance, rather than a political party. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
Random quote: "The decadent international but individualistic capitalism in the hands of which we found ourselves after the war is not a success. It is not intelligent. It is not beautiful. It is not just. It is not virtuous. And it doesn't deliver the goods." - John Maynard Keynes |
