Bill: OOC/RP: Two-party system and FPTP
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 5012
Description[?]:
This is a pretty radical proposal, but one which I think would enhance the roleplay experience and offer interesting opportunities: create a two-party system in Luthori. By this I mean that each player would RP as a faction of one of two parties. This has been explored before, such as with the LSP and the 49th-century Conservative Union of Luthori/Civic Alliance of Luthori coalitions. Outside Luthori there was an RPed two-party system in Baltusia for some time following the introduction of the nation’s current America-inspired setup. Per the rules this would not be compulsory to participate in, but people playing as their own parties would inevitably be doomed to third party status at best, providing an incentive to play within the proposed system. Government programmes would be more coherent, based on party manifestos rather than whatever promises are thrown together to form a cabinet. Party organisations would be used for intra-party discussions, with players deciding beforehand the composition of their governments and shadow cabinets. This micro-scale factional basis could also offer opportunities for RP around individual characters and their careers. I’m interested in hearing people’s thoughts. |

Message | Sounds interesting - I’d probably go for one of two things: - A progressive wing of a left-wing party in the B-SNU, SDPP, A-LVC and LPP (96 seats) - A centre-left faction of a progressive party consisting of the current reform government (151 seats) |
Date | 13:34:06, October 12, 2021 CET | From | Liberal Party | To | Debating the OOC/RP: Two-party system and FPTP |
Message | Well, the Liberal Party has unique proposals and could not merge into another party. |

Message | If that's your only issue with it, then that could easily be sorted by having willing parties merge into the Liberals, who I understand already have a progressive wing. |
