Bill: Coalition negociations: the two options

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 5037

Description[?]:

Following the inconclusive election results, the Liberal Party put two options on the table:

-The SHIELDWALL-LIBERAL grand coalition: as both parties attacked themselves during the campaign, this would mean the incumbent and defeated government would make concessions to the Liberal Party. At the same time, the Liberal Party would not be able to repeal all the Shieldwall laws.

The Liberals would like to repeal these laws to form this cabinet:
The police may arrest citizens for any reason.
It is forbidden to criticize the government, or publish any material that the government does not approve of.
The police can search a person or their property without restrictions.
Police officers carry military-grade equipment.
The government has the right to monitor information of individuals without letting them know.
The confidentiality of letters is not inviolable.
The police may disperse a group without giving any reason
No refugees are allowed to enter the country.
All schools are required to be religious in nature.
People are required to dress according to religious codes
Contraceptives are banned for religious reasons.

And also liberalise the economy and stop the state-controlled economy by repealing these:
Gambling is illegal.
There is a nationalised post office agency in the nation. Private ones are banned.
The government owns and operates all airports.
Companies are required to distribute a majority fraction of its profits to employees.

-THE SOCIAL-PROGRESSIVE coalition:
A coalition consisting of the Liberals and communists with the supply and confidence of the DP that would pass socialist legislations but also progressive legislations. This would require both Liberals and Progressives to make concessions
The Liberals would help pass socialist policies like increasing the health&social spending, increasing the highest income brackets tax rates, the enforcement of a salary cap and free public transport for everyone.
At the same time, most of the ultra-conservative laws passed by the Shieldwall would be repealed if such a cabinet came to power.

We need to know if the concerned parties would support such cabinets.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.

Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner
