Bill: RP: Prime Minister David Harper responds to Peters

Details

Submitted by[?]: United National Workers’ Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 5057

Description[?]:

After a couple of months deliberation, Prime Minister, Chairman David Harper, has finally texted to the comments made by Allan Peters on TV program, Luthori Today.

Harper began with a public assurance that he was committed to remaining coalition partners and Peters’ views did not reflect those of the wider party, and certainly didn’t reflect those of the Workers’ Council. In a speech in the Imperial Diet, he turned to Peters, who was sat three rows behind, and made this above statement. He also stated that the CMPL had every right to be angry with Peters, just as he was.

Later that day, the Workers’ Council released a statement that Peters had had his UNWF membership withdrawn and would from here on in sit as an independent MID.

Some in the party have commended Harper for his action, however others have condemned him for what they see as an overreaction. Either way, Harper is roving to be much more controversial than his predecessor, contrary to many predictions.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.

Random quote: "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tenche Coxe
