Description[?]:
- President The President is the Head of State. Although elected, the President is largely ceremonial, having handed over governing responsibilities to the Chancellor. - Chancellor The Chancellor is the Head of Government who commands majority support when pushing through a cabinet proposal. The Chancellor is the most important official in Mordusia and is actually responsible for governing. - Council of Ministers The Council of Ministers is the Mordusian term for the governing cabinet (i.e., chief executive body), chaired by the Chancellor. - National Assembly The National Assembly of the Commonwealth is the national legislative body of Mordusia, with 200 members drawn from all the Free Republics (regions). - Speaker The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Commonwealth is elected from the members of the National Assembly to act in an independent manner to oversee debates and the day-to-day procedural business of the Assembly. Although independent, the speaker's vote shall be recorded with his/her original party during the voting phase. - Bill debates When debating bills, you are encouraged to act as if the debate is taking place in the National Assembly. Therefore, all statements should be addressed to "Mr. Speaker." Example - "Mr. Speaker, this party disagrees with the government position because of XYZ." - Leader of the Opposition The formal leader of the opposition in the National Assembly shall be the leader of the largest party not represented in the governing cabinet. The leader of the opposition could theoretically be the leader of the largest or even smallest party in the Assembly, depending on which parties are included in the government. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
