The Liberal Party took power in Middenriding. These are the new reforms: -The government makes no provision for civil defence. -The government provides abortion funding only for low-income earners. -Advertising is restricted and has to carry strong warning messages. -Alcoholic beverages may be purchased and consumed anywhere, but only by adults. -The government introduces, and actively enforces, food standards provisions. -The government recommends health and safety legislation, but they are not actively enforced on industry. -Cannabis is legal as a sedative for patients in pain. -Jury duty is not mandatory, any adult citizen may volunteer to serve. -Only certain individuals accused of serious crimes have the right to trial by jury. -Jurors are randomly selected from the population. -Charter schools must have a specific focus. -Selective schools are allowed -No state penalties are issued for blasphemy. -The state guarantees child benefit to families classified as low-income or poor. -All housing is private but rent is subsidised for low-income households -The government does not regulate rents. -Government subsidies are provided for research and generation of energy through renewable sources. |
