Bill: Public Blasphemy Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party (Hardliners)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 5080

Description[?]:

In some duchies, public profanity is considered a serious offence, but why? There are other crimes waiting to be judged in the courts, but no, we persist in having people punished who have just criticized religion, what is the next step, the end of freedom of the press, expression... If we want a stable and prosperous Luthori, the national government must take over the reins of this country and stop giving more and more power to the governments of the duchies.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.

Random quote: "Whatever crushes individuality is despotism, by whatever name it may be called and whether it professes to be enforcing the will of God or the injunctions of men." - John Stuart Mill
